Traverse City is so beautiful in the fall. But someone even more beautiful has just asked a charming Southern boy to dance. He's accepted wholeheartedly. Those were their first words, and that was their first dance.

Danielle's family are natives to Northern Michigan, so Cody met her family first. Her parents (Cynthia and Tom Dryer) and her oldest brother (Will Fortin) welcomed him with open arms, fine wine, and charcuterie the moment they met him.

Totally lost in a corn maze, but there are worse ways a date can go.

Cody and Danielle's first Halloweeen together. They even won the costume contest. She's Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. He's Apollo, God of Prophecy and the Sun.

Their first Thanksgiving together. He meets her father (Bill Fortin) and older brother and his wife (Mike and Jessie Fortin) for the first time. They welcomed him with smoked turkey and family board games.

First winter hike at the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Best to stay ahead of that holiday weight gain!

Their first Christmas, with her mom, stepfather and eldest brother. Everyone ate well, and made merry when Cody wasn't studying for his licensing exams.

All that studying finally pays off. Cody passes his licensing exam!

With their birthdays only eight days apart, arranging parties is much easier. But there's even more to celebrate than that— her parents have given their blessing!

Reunion! Cody had to return to Louisiana to draw for pilotage, and they both missed each other madly.

She graduates from Michigan State! Danielle Deanna Fortin is the world's newest doctor of veterinary medicine.

He graduates! She meets his parents (Chad Doyle and Jennifer Keegan) at the graduation and they couldn't have loved one another more. The following week they set out for their first trip to Louisiana together so she could meet the rest of his family.
